Guitariste, auteur-compositeur et chanteur qui a commencé sa vie dans la musique à l'âge de 6 ans lorsqu'il a pris la guitare de son père dans sa ville natale de Pittsburgh, en Pennsylvanie. Étudiant le jazz avec des professeurs d'université locaux à un âge précoce, il a finalement rencontré les géants du jazz de Pittsburgh Eric Kloss et Dwayne Dolphin avant de se rendre au Berklee College of Music à Boston pour étudier avec Hal Crook, Mick Goodrick et Wayne Krantz. C'est pendant son séjour à l'université qu'une carrière en tournée a commencé avec son groupe instrumental Waking Vision Trio. Finalement, en déménageant à New York, John à découvert une partie de sa scène musicale diversifiée jouant dans de nombreux genres musicaux. En tant que directeur musical de la chanteuse folk Sonya Kitchell, John s'est produit au Late Night TV et a fait de nombreuses tournées dans le pays. En tant que guitariste du phénomène jazz-fusion Hiromi, John a fait de nombreuses tournées en Europe et au Japon.
Quittant New York pour faire une tournée en Australie pendant deux ans pour diriger la musique d'un spectacle de cirque de variétés immersif à Las Vegas, John est revenu aux États-Unis et a repris la route avec son groupe de rock'n'roll theSHIFT dont le single «Dreams» est allé à Number 1 sur les charts en Amérique du Sud. Après avoir décidé de faire une pause après des tournées incessantes, John a profité de l'occasion pour ouvrir un bar et un restaurant de jazz live, Con Alma. De retour dans sa ville natale de Pittsburgh avec l'intention de donner un chez-soi à la forte scène de jazz locale. Guitarist, songwriter and singer who started his life in music at the age of 6 when he picked up his father's guitar in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Studying jazz with local college professors at an early age, he eventually met Pittsburgh jazz giants Eric Kloss and Dwayne Dolphin before heading to Berklee College of Music in Boston to study with Hal Crook, Mick Goodrick and Wayne Krantz. It was during his time in college that a touring career began with his instrumental band Waking Vision Trio. Eventually, moving to New York, John discovered some of its diverse music scene playing in many musical genres. As musical director for folk singer Sonya Kitchell, John performed on Late Night TV and toured the country extensively. As the guitarist for jazz-fusion phenomenon Hiromi, John has toured extensively in Europe and Japan.
Leaving New York to tour Australia for two years conducting the music for an immersive variety circus show in Las Vegas, John returned to the United States and hit the road again with his rock 'n' band. roll theSHIFT whose single “Dreams” went to Number 1 on the charts in South America. After deciding to take a break from relentless touring, John took the opportunity to open a live jazz bar and restaurant, Con Alma. Back in his hometown of Pittsburgh with the intention of giving the strong local jazz scene a home. John is currently working on his new album Trio as well as producing and playing a compilation of musicians from the current Pittsburgh jazz scene. (Worldwide Release Party /July 2024)
