DENISE KING

Denise King, née le 31 octobre 1954 à Philadelphie, est une chanteuse de Jazz américaine.

Elle commence sa carrière sur le tard, à trente ans, sans avoir fréquenté ni l'église ni le conservatoire. Elle était assistante médicale lorsqu'un ami guitariste, Rahman Rasheed, l'a entendu par hasard chanter et a perçu son talent, la poussant à faire ses premiers essais en tant que chanteuse professionnelle. Elle a accepté, espérant gagner un peu d'argent, et la chanson est rapidement devenue sa seule profession. Elle prépare actuellement un nouvel album sur le label Jazzbook Records pour la rentrée 2024 et pour cela elle s'est entouré du producteur d' Ahmad Jamal & de Lucky Peterson (Seydou Barry) et du guitariste auteur, compositeur (John Shannon).

Denise King, born October 31, 1954 in Philadelphia, is an American jazz singer. She began her career late, at thirty, without having attended either church or the conservatory. She was a medical assistant when a guitarist friend, Rahman Rasheed, happened to hear her singing and saw her talent, prompting her to make her first attempts as a professional singer. She accepted, hoping to earn some money, and singing soon became her only profession. She is currently preparing a new album on the Jazzbook Records label for the 2024 school year and for this she has surrounded herself with the producer of Ahmad Jamal & Lucky Peterson (Seydou Barry) and the guitarist, author, composer (John Shannon).
